The lady took the cat! I am so grateful and thankful for each of your prayers, magic thoughts and crossed arms, legs, toes, hands and fingers!! YIPPEE!!!
She also will take the female cat, if I can find her and trap her. Oh the joy of good friends and people who love animals!
As for the other cat…I can’t find her. I’ve been watching for her for three days now; she seems to have disappeared. It is possible she worked her way to some other house along our country road; searching for a male.
Or….this big bird took her for lunch.
I tried to blow up the photo to see what type of bird it is
It just turned fuzzy on me.
Does anyone have an idea. It looks heavy…is it carrying something I wonder.
IF this bird made lunch out of the very sweet little cat…there is nothing I can do about it.
Predators…another reason people really need to NOT DUMP ANIMALS!!! If it wasn’t a bird it could very easily be a fox or a coyote . I guess those who dump don’t really care…out of site out of mind. It’s gets eaten…Oh well, that’s how it goes.
I will keep looking for her, but I’m thinking I really don’t have to any more.

Life on a Colorado Farm 
You know I’m with you 100% on this issue, Linda. My dream is to someday catch a person dumping an animal. They will hear 40 years worth of pent-up anger. This morning I’m trying to figure out how to catch a poor little black cat with a gash on her side. It’s almost Christmas, you know, time to dump the old pet and get a new puppy or kitten. One of the local Facebook pages I follow is overloaded with “rehoming” requests right now. My, but those folks get so angry when you call them on their stupidity.
Anyone who has a cat declawed is obviously someone who has no business with a pet of any kind, because maintaining a pristine house is the most important thing in their self-obsessed little life.
All I want for Christmas is for the buttheads of the world to find out what it’s like to be dumped and homeless. Peace and love!

That is one big bird. I don’t think Boomer needs to be afraid, but it looks like cat would be a good snack .I agree with you both on dumping animals, what a horrible thing to do.

I do hope that little cat turns up Linda and you can rehome her. I can’t bear to think of the awful lives these abandoned animals have sometimes.

It’s nice to know the lady has taken that poor cat. I can’t get over how they de-clawed him too. Why do people do things like dumping. I can’t get my head around it.

Good news that you found a home for that pretty kitty:) Cats that have been declawed can still catch mice and birds, it just takes longer! Here Eagles take cats all the time…must be good eating:)

I would think it could be a rabbit, or some field animal that are more tempting for large birds. But Large birds [eagles do take cats] especially in the corn fields. As to the dumping of animals, just think about all the road kill we have in the US on our roads. Deer, dogs, rabbits, possums, etc. No one stops with concern about them as they zip by at 60 mph. I was driving the other day on my way back from Huntsville. In the space of 2 miles: one dog, two chickens, one possum and two deer. Too much traffic to stop and check out the dog..I did call the Game management people [they said they would check the deer carcass’s out.]

I am very happy you were able to find a good home for the cat and hope the female cat is found since it also has a home waiting for it.
I think dumping an animal is very cruel, but I also think putting a loved pet into a shelter is also very cruel. The poor family friend doesn’t understand what happened to their family.
The lucky ones in a shelter go to a loving home, the unlucky ones go to a home where they will be abused. The really unlucky ones a forced to live out their life in a cage unless the shelter cares enough for the quality of life of the animals and puts them down.
In my opinion there is a need in the system to lovingly put an animal down when circumstances change and people can not keep them. Many vets refuse to out a healthy animal down, what options are their for the pet owners?
The system for unwanted pets is broken and needs to be fixed so animals are no longer dumped on the road and left to fend for themselves.
I am so happy you could rescue the cat AND ensure it has a safe new home.

What a joy to know that your beautiful rescued cat has a new warm home for Christmas. There are angels on earth! Your bird doesn’t look like an eagle or hawk. The wings don’t quite look right. I am hoping the other cat will find a home, too.
Also happy your harvest is in. We always have a patch of corn for fresh, but I won’t take my corn meal and corn products for granted anymore. Lots of hard work and job well done!

I’m so glad you found kitty a home! People that hurt animals and children need to be hung up by their ears and spun around! Grrrrrr!
As far as your big bird, I’m thinking it’s a ferruginous hawk. They soar low to the ground catching rodents and such. We have then here and they are just amazing to watch.

Hello There, I always enjoy your posts–but will say that I’m sick that people dump animals out… Glad you found a good home for one of the cats. Hope you find the female. Big Bird though–so??????? Hope not.
Sorry I haven’t been around much lately. I do try to read blogs—but just haven’t commented very much lately like I usually try to do. Please don’t give up on me. Hopefully my life will be back to ‘normal’— whatever that is (ha), sometime in January.
I did get a cortisone shot in my knee —which has helped with the pain somewhat. In January, I will most likely have meniscus tear surgery…. BUT—in the meantime, I plan to have a fantastic Christmas —and hopefully get to see my kids/grands… God is Good.

Glad you found someone! I have learned from experience that some people JUST DON’T GET IT! I had a friend who was raising ducks and releasing them at a local pond because she wanted to see white ducks at the pond. She had no idea that domesticated ducks would not survive in the wild and she wondered why they all disappeared so fast.
