Around ten o’clock yesterday, Terry exclaimed…”I’m tired of doing work! I’m tired. I want to do something different.”
“Okay,” I replied. “What do you have in mind?”
“Let’s take a little drive, nothing far, or hard to get too, nothing full of dirt and concern over hunters. Someplace we can see that is different from the farm.”
“Hummm”…..we pondered together.
“Let’s go to Ouray,[ Colorado]!” he announced. “We can get a bite to eat on the way up, stop and get my part for the pick-up on the way back, and be home by supper.”
Your friend,
Linda
Adventures on the spur of the moment are always the best!! Glad you both got away for a little while!!

It was good. Today we are getting ready to pull pinto beans…the break was truly called for.

I love spontaneous outings like that. It looks wonderful. I’m interested in your statement “concern over hunters”…I recently read an article about how pervasive gun use is in national parks, shooting practice and such, not just hunting, and I was amazed.

Oh, it’s hunting season here. First bow, then black powder…and it goes on and on, even into winter and late winter when there are those who hunt Mountain Lions. So we couldn’t head up on the plateau …. the hunters are everywhere and some get shooting crazy—will shoot at anything that moves…sometimes they shoot at people.

No one deserves a break more than you and Terry. And of course Boomer guarded the farm for you.

Yes he did, although, I think he would have loved to come along.

It was crowded, but that was okay. Lots to look at and many people to watch.

Gorgeous, gorgeous header, Linda! Getting a break from the work is just what the doctor, errr, farmer ordered!! Come back refreshed and ready to dig in to more farming.
Sunny and very hot here. Blessings!

there is just something so comforting coming here to your blog – your easiness with the farm work, your furry children and the husband – all so sweet – difficult painful day and you just made it easier – thank you for being here and sharing

So much nicer than working day after day and not being able to take a break (breaks are always needed for a hard working farmer)

It has a winter population around 600 and a summer population around 3,000. Lots of summer people!
