A Rare Day—Sunday, November 1, 2015

QYesterday was a rare day.

R

The breezes sighed through the corn, rustling the the dried tassels and the papery leaves, rubbing the stalks together with a soft rasping sound.

The pulse of the earth is slowing down, gradually cooling, settling in for a long winter’s nap.

PBut yesterday, just for a spell, the air warmed, jackets were not needed, the fire died in the woodstove, and joy filled the souls of all living and breathing things.  A reprevie, a warming back up…or at least a stopping of the cool down for an afternoon.

As the Chinese Proverb says:  “One joy will scatter a hundred sorrows.”  A warm afternoon was proof of that proverb.

Very much your friend,

Linda

  1. Hi Linda

Beautiful photos to accompany that Chinese proverb.
I certainly hope that the proverb works for me tomorrow,
maybe THAT is an “omen” for the first Tuesday of November,
Australia’s Unofficial National Holiday – the day a race “Stops a
    Nation – The Melbourne Cup”.
My annual bet – a First Four Passed the Post goes on this
morning – Pre-bet. Then I settle back and hope for a not
lightning fast dry track – but it is Melbourne and early showers
    are predicted.
    Cheers
    Colin

  2. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful along the Front Range also. Your middle of the week snow will be our end of week rain/snow mix. (I’d prefer the rain.) Hopefully, it won’t be too cold. 🙂

  3. What pretty pictures!! Glad you day was so pretty…we have it today! It is about 84* with light winds and just a joy to be outside! IF it wasn’t for the wasps, they are everywhere! But I will take the pretty Fall day, anyway! Hope your Fall lasts for a little while longer.

    Blessings!
