Oh. Linda, that is stunning. I cannot even guess at how many hours it took you to make that beauty. It will make a lovely pillow. (I wound NOT want anyone to put their head on it.) Sandy

Congratulations it’s beautiful! I didn’t know you were a fellow crossstitcher, do you have another project lined up to start or do you just stitch over the winter months when the farm is quieter? Have a great day!
Helen
How lovely, Linda. Maybe you could frame it to grace a wall. My eyes won’t let me do needlework anymore. You are so talented. I am still working on my winter project because it is still winter here. Snow this morning.
Lovely work, Linda!! I haven’t found a needlepoint project worth doing for a long time and right now everything is stuck in storage. It’ll make a nice pillow.
I don’t purchase kits, only the patterns if I don’t just come up with my own. I think it’s sad that handcraft kits and such are so expensive. It puts them out of reach of so many people who would otherwise be happy to purchase and work them. It also makes it difficult to have children try the various crafts to see if they like doing any of them. It seems that the components have gotten expensive too which is sad.
The plastic grid is call “TransGraph” or “TransGrafix” or something like that if I remember correctly. It’s a set of several clear plastic sheets about 8 1/2″ x 11″ with black graph lines in different sizes.
Oh my Linda…. your project is absolutely beautiful! I can see why it took you so long to complete it. Where will you put it? Or is it a gift for somebody? I love your opening picture of the mountains too….gorgeous!
Those are the San Juan Mountains the gateway to Silverton, Durango, and the four corners. They lay to the south of us! Stunning peaks, that is for sure!
D > Lovely! I think you in N America call a pillow what we in UK call a cusion. So, a US Pillow. It’ll get worn out eventually, but at least you get to enjoy it more than framed and on a wall. Thought it’s good enough for that, surely! Well done!
I was going to ask if it was cross stitch but found my answer in the comments. Needlepoint is the one skill I could never wrap my head around. My mother was very good at it. Your project turned out beautiful! I know how much work is involved in that piece of work. You will know what to do with it soon. Congrats on the finish. What’s next on the list? 🙂
Right now it’s my yard…I’m creating bug hotels, and I want to make a hummingbird bath, then some other feeders for different types of critters. In Between the yard work and the farm work, in the hour before I get too tired to stay awake any longer I started (you guessed it) another needlepoint project 🙂
So pretty. How big is it?

About the size of a throw pillow.

I’m not very good at cross stitch, this is needlepoint. I do like needlepoint. And some embroidery.

I am so shocked at the prices of need point kits…some are over $150—shocking. Not something I could ever afford to purchase, that is for sure.

Usually take a drawing or photo and use a clear plastic grid overlay and copy out the colors on graph paper. I can’t draw worth beans.

Farm work, yard work, house work, creative endeavors and time with family and Boomer. Then you wonder why you are tired on occasion. 🙂

Getting old is not for sissies. At almost 69, I am chronically fatigued. The white tornado of yesterday is just the limp mop of today.
