While we slept, the dreams of summer vanished along with all the summer stars
The weeds had been warning us…turning their summer green to colors suited only for Fall
Then in the pink and purple blaze of morning sunrise
The sunlight striking on the ground revealed Jack Frost arrived last night!
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
Sorry for your plants! So far no frost here. I am grateful for every day as everything is very late in ripening

I hope you don’t get a killing frost until closer to Halloween!

‘Frost on the Pumpkin’ means summer has really gone away. We’re going to have to wait a few more weeks for Jack to arrive here!

We had a HUGE flock of Sandhills flew over yesterday! They sure help pass the long winter months!

We get a killing frost maybe once in 10 or 15 years but that is too often for me.

Well, I guess you have to have a killing frost before you can have an Indian Summer! Let’s hope you get some beautiful fall days.

Happy Autumn Linda!! Summer seems to have ended very quickly for you!…. it’s lingering here — sunny mid-days (unless it is welcome rain) but chilly morning and evenings. Good sleeping weather though (for those of us lazy souls who have time for that activity). Love your pumpkin picture — and all of them really.

It did end quickly and is staying away, although the days are nice. Rain is due in here anytime..we hope to get the last field of beans done before it comes. Fingers Crossed

A little bit. October 8th is the average frost date for our area.
