The Adventures of Sherlock Boomer—The Mystery of Nothing Chapter 9

“There’s never enough time to do all the nothing you want.”—Bill Watterson, Calvin and Hobbes

Chapter Nine

Meanwhile………….

Back at the farm house

Mom and Dad came home!

Mindy and Sam-Sam were there to meet Mom and Dad, but…

Hum…not me, the world-famous Sherlock Boomer Beaglie.

Mindy told me that Mom called and called and called.

No Boomer

Then Mom and Dad came out and got on their four-wheelers and left!

After a long, long time they came back.

Then Dad went out by himself.

By now it was getting dark.

Mom walked around and called my name lots.

Mom and Mindy walked out to the corn field and called my name.

Then it started to rain.

Mindy said Mom picked her up and went into the house.

Mindy heard Mom tell Dad she hoped Boomer was okay; it’s raining and she heard the coyotes up at the Upper End.

Off and on Mom would got out throughout the night and call my name.  Mindy didn’t go with her.  Mindy said she knew I would be home sometime, maybe just not right now.

Sammy and Mindy climbed onto Dad’s lap and took a nap.  Mom was too nervous to have a cat sleeping on her.

As for Kit and I…well, it rained, you see, and the creek rose up.

By the time the creek rose up, Momma Fox was over with us scouting around for mice and such to eat.

As for me…I guess I sorta, kinda, well…lost track of time.

  1. Well , I know how mom feels…..wondering where you are ..both angry a little and panicky and loving too…hard one. I do not feel you will get treats…but you will be welcomed with open paws…xox
