Thank you so very much!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Your kind words, your loving stories, your endless profusion of concern and support has lifted my heart .
Giving me courage to continue onward, and forward, in this miserable abyss of Sammy’s last days.
Many of you have told me I will know, when his painful inching toward the rainbow bridge has becomes too much; at which time I will be able to help him into the after-life and into a whole and pain free existence. (I have worried that I won’t know, but I do think I will now; Sammy will tell me.)
Thank you once more!
Each one of you near and far, blog and FaceBook, commenter or reader have given me the strength to progress, I am humbled by your heart.
Love,
Linda
Yes, you will know. Russell Sprout hung in there much longer than I thought. I would have given up much sooner, but he was such a trooper. When he was ready, it was clear. Sammy will be too. And you will hear him, because your connection is strong.

That has been such a HUGE concern. It has to be his choice–I don’t want to take it away from him. Thank you.

It is true—you will know. My dog Calico was 17yrs and on the last 3 days laid in her bed but her look told me “not yet” and on the 3rd day it was sunny so she got up went outside and found a perfect spot under the Walnut tree and lay down—I swear she smiled and that was her choice.
Be strong!

Thank you for the beauty of your thoughts and actions. You are such a comfort and an addition to our lives. As a certified, old-dragon, English teacher, I recognize poetry and great literature when I read it.
God Bless and ease you for the choice you are having to make. You are in all our prayers.

You know something, Katie. I had an amazing education from old-dragon English teachers…one in the 8th grade who despaired I would ever learn to diagram (and so did I), Mr. Smith my Jr. and Sr. years in High School who taught me how to express myself in WORDS on PAPER and one of my college professors who said…’WRITE! You understand so now Write!’ I have been so blessed because of these people.
Today I am blessed because of wondrous souls like you!
Very humbly, I thank you!

Dearest Linda… you will know… when I came home after taking my darling Cara to the vet, I found the tree she had always used to climb onto the verandah and back into the house, had keeled over and was lying on the ground… if you have time, you can read about it in my first blog…
It released me from the guilt I was feeling that I might have taken action too soon…
and pussy=cats stay around… many people report still seeing them … as I did…their spirits are such a comfort and the love never stops… XXX

It seems so unfair that our beloved pets live such short lives and turtles live forever.

How do you do that? I am trying to be a comfort to you, and you take the time and emotional energy to be so kind to me. I am glad that there are people like you in this world! No wonder you have been blessed and trusted with such wonderful pet babies.
Thank you for everything.

aww Linda, we are humbled by your heart. It is such a dear one and so full of goodness. Try not to worry, but instead enjoy whatever time you have left with your dear Sam. No matter how long our loved pets are with us, it’s always a gift. I had a beautiful tuxedo kitty (named Sammy) that I lost at 6 months. We just have to be thankful for every day we get with God’s precious animals.

I think most of us that come here to visit you are huge animal lovers and understand the gravity of what you are going through. Most of us have been there. It’s obvious most will be here for you both as well. Giant squishy hugs to hold your heart together.

My thoughts are with you. It is hard…really hard. If we didn’t love so much it would be easier to let go. I am sending good thoughts your way for comfort. 🙂
