Breathing the Air —- Monday, May 14, 2018

The wind has been terrible again…50 m.p.h. gusts, my poor plants are feeling crushed and flatted and battered and beaten.

Even though the winds have been blowing, like God is angry, everything once invisible has become visible in the sunlight

The soft clouds dance and flicker  through out the day

While the dry, dry soil gives us visual belief in the unseen wind.

More and more we are seeing the summer birds returning.  Breathing brightness into the sunlight

Filling out the tapestry of grass, trees, leaves, flowers, bumble and honey bees

Even though the spinning pounding wind as been most unusual…

The beauty of spring fills our eyes, our hearts, our souls and the growing newness of the earth!

From my world to your heart,

Linda

  1. On our trip to Oklahoma late in 2012, I was fascinated by one of those dust devils way off in the distance in the Mohave Desert. I could see it many miles away, and it just kept going. I am accustomed to them lasting only a few seconds, but his just continued like a tiny tornado for maybe as long as fifteen minutes as we drove towards it, and it moved towards the highway ahead of us. It eventually fizzled out, but what a cool thing to see. I don’t know why it was cool, but I can tell you it was.

  2. What IS it with your weather this year? Wind, rain, snow, cold… but very little warm, moderate sunshine and gentle breezes. Nature is doing her best with the plants, but the weather gods are trying her patience, I think.

  3. I think Mother Nature is having herself a little hissy fit all over the globe. Dust devils can be problematic as well. I love a good cool breeze but winds and extreme heat do me in. I could never be a farmer. That’s why I admire them so much. Darn hard work in the worst of weather. You capture it well. Love the bird too.
