The Day Full of the Hum of Bumblebees—-Wednesday, July 11, 2018

Summer….one thing about hot summer days and warm summer evenings is:

BABIES

Lots of babies…the Barn Swallow nests on our house there are about 8 nests all full of various stages of ‘kids’

I still have not seen any little baby hummingbirds…although, I keep looking and watching.  I would have thought there would have been something by now.

But…not yet.

I will keep watch.  Surely I will get to see something soon!

  1. Oh my, that would be so great to see baby hummingbirds!! I’m sure if you see them, you’ll take pics for the rest of us envious folks out here in blog land! 🙂 I can’t even entice an adult to come to my feeder. Too many cats and dogs around, perhaps? Love the baby barn swallows too. We used to have a pair that nested above our heads in the cow stable, but they’ve begun nesting elsewhere. We must have looked pretty scary!

  2. I’m so happy to see your barn swallows! I have always loved watching the babies grow and learn to fly. Usually I watch them in France, but we’re not there yet. So, thank you for sharing!

  3. Look at all those Barn Swallows! I love them! The swallow clan are among my favorite birds. We spent a little time yesterday checking to power lines for good ones and did find a Bank Swallow one county over from us. Love your summer posts and photos!
