The smoke from all the fires…fires in Utah, two on the Uncompahgre Plateau (which you can’t see right now because of the smoke), the one at Crawford, over at Rifle, three at Meeker, one in Parachute…
Terry said…”Let’s go for a ride!”
Who could turn THAT down? Not me!
Off we went…traveling here and there, then home again.
Later that evening…much later. The smoke thinned somewhat and I saw MARS!
Running in to get my camera I was delighted to actually have a photo of that stunning red planet!

I’m guessing there are no raging fires on the red planet.

Little GTO, you’re really lookin’ fine
Three deuces and a four-speed and a 389
Listen to her tachin’ up now, listen to her why-ee-eye-ine
C’mon and turn it on, wind it up, blow it out GTO….
Nice ride, Terry! We’ll just have to follow you in the pickup, now that we sold the SL

We just looked at Mars through Jim’s telescope the other night! You got a great picture of it! He would enjoy your old car…his baby right now is a 1974 MGB convertible. He loves to go out for a ride in the evening, just for fun.

Congratulations on your wonderful picture of Mars. I haven’t seen it through all the clouds here in our part of Tennessee. I would have enjoyed a ride in that car as well.

The US bushfires are very much on the news here in Australia.
You’ll be pleased to know as I type this 100 firefighters in the various
divisions of that profession – aerial etc etc have just lifted off from Sydney
Airport on QF11 ( a Airbus A380-800) for LAX and then will be deployed in
the States of Washington, Oregon and Idaho to assist in your catastrophes.
Here in my state of NSW the drought is all the news – 98% of this state – the size
of Colorado is drought affected. The response to monetary appeals for the farming
fraternity is wonderful. What one sees on the TV is heart wrenching – so sad.
Clever photo of the Red Planet – well done.

GREAT SHOT!!! We can all use some rain on this side of the country but just not too much like the east coast is getting. Balance. A ride sounds like a nice way to spend the evening.
