A storm blew in yesterday…bringing snow to the mountains
and rain to the fields
The setting sun echoed color throughout the clouds
The rain filled the sky—
Then charged over the land slowing down harvest!
We will begin again when everything is dry enough.
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda

One must have patience to be a farmer, I’m sure.

I’m sorry to hear about the delay caused by the stormy weather. Hopefully the weather will improve and the corn will quickly dry.

Oh, that snow is so compelling. The only interesting weather we got so far was a wicked smoke that stayed through yesterday. It was from a small fire to the south, but was the worst I can remember in a long time, and even worse than much larger fires. I just wrote about it yesterday.

Oh, this fire season is terrible. I hope it stops soon with nice gentle rains for you!

Thank you. Fires are a part of life here. Fire season normally finishes about now when the first light rains starts, but it has not happened yet. The sad part about these fires is that they seem to be a series of arson fires.

Yes. What is even creepier is that it is happening in other communities at the same time.

Well, don’t be sad or mad. Things are not as crazy where you are.

No, but it effects people I know…like Sam who lives very close to Paradise which is now no more.

Well, that is very sad. A friend here is awaiting the arrival of his brother who lost his home there. The smoke here is horrible right now.
