The Gentle Art of Being a Hero—Wednesday, November 7, 2018

Mindy was an older feral cat when she decided at her mature age of 5 to come live on the farm with us

We allow her to come and go in the house as she wishes

To sleep wherever she wants in the house

Although, she loves me and the food I magically appear before her

But where Boomer is always with me

Her most favorite person in the whole wide world

Is Terry.

I think the feeling is mutual 🙂

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

spoke the words slowly, in an ancient tongue come down from the days of the Norsemen. “Say it in English,” I said, seeing from Roger’s face that while he spoke the words, he did not recognize them all. “O Lord, bless the blood and the flesh of this the creature that You gave me,” Jamie said softly. 1. Such a very sweet observation. I was once adopted by a wondering cat whom I promptly named Delia. She loved me and she made me love her even though I’ve always been allergic. There was a bond between us you couldn’t explain or explain away. It just was. She would come and go, but it was I who moved away I always felt sad about that.

  2. Love, love, love your stories. Especially about the critters. We have a “barn” cat of indeterminate age, rescued quite awhile ago from a hoarding situation. Stanley is quite friendly and wily enough to have avoided an untimely end from any wilier coyote. He prefers living outdoors regardless of the Texas weather, despite all efforts to invite him in. We think the world of him and he loves the 4 great big Pyrs who guard him and the other furry four legged farm friends!
