An Avenue of Escape—-Thursday, November 8, 2018

I am really not good at sitting watching TV…my hands need to be doing something so my ears can listen.  Otherwise, I’m up and down; restless.

I am also not very good at complicated things.  So I look for kits to work.

I have one daughter who loves Halloween…I just finished this cute little pillow top and am now working on another one.  I will post it when I finish.

Then I have another daughter who loves Christmas.  This is also a kit, but I changed it up some….creating two pockets to reflect their dogs

Gypsy who is an Old English Bulldog

This is not a very good photo, but it gives you an idea of what she looks like…she is gray and white.

And Scout who is an Australian Kelpie

This morning I saw a rainbow…on my kitchen floor…I’ll take any type of rainbow wherever I can!

You folks have a good day!

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

Linda

  1. Linda, hello from near Toledo, OH. I’m enjoying reading of your life in Colorado. Today’s pics of your handwork show how intricate they are-very cute!

  2. Those are really cool! Kits are good, cuz you can always add your own “special” touches. And like you, kitchen rainbows are a good thing 🌈

  3. I know what you mean about time spent just watching is wasted. You can follow perfectly well by listening, working and just looking up occasionally. Besides, it stops my hands reaching for things to eat 😉

  4. Oh Linda, your sewing kits are beautiful. You do a wonderful job. I love how you’ve added the two dogs to the Christmas kit. Is it an Advent Calendar with all the pockets? How neat. Hope your corn gets dried out soon so you can finish up your harvest! All the best to you and yours!

  5. I’m with you on needing something for my hands to do while watching TV. If I don’t have something to keep them busy, they hunt down snacks and that never ends well. I love your Halloween kit. My daughter loves Halloween better than any holiday. Son is a Christmas fan. Makes finding creative things to do fun and diverse. I did kits for years and still have many here to do. Silk ribbon embroidery waiting in the wings. You are quite good at those kits.

  6. As usuaI for me these days I am behind and catching up and had to immediately scroll back from your latest in order to see the beginning post on your kits. I like all of them in both posts and admire you for ‘multi-tasking’ and accomplishing these lovely gifts; your daughters are lucky! …. I do better watching TV nowadays because we only watch Netflix or Amazon and there are no commercials which I could never stand to sit through.
