(This is an old photo from the last melt two weeks ago, but I loved the colors)
It’s melting here…great swaths of earth now call MUD forming here there and everywhere
But I am thinking it won’t last. This, after all, it is January.
There are several more weeks to go until March
But for a short spell, I will enjoy this small melt
Wipe up the mud and water as we come into the house
And continue to count the days until the new season of farming starts.
(These photos of snow and birds were taken three days ago…we are melting fast)
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
I can’t help but think it would be nice to go from snow to Spring and just skipping the mud stage. I must admit that our mud has been caused by rain, not snow. The temperatures have turned much colder, but there still is no snow in our forecast.

I hope our mountains have much more snow, but I’m for dry land here.

Mud season is no fun but it means that spring will be at your place soon. One more day here then we will be freezing Aloha

I have to ask–do you wear your flipflops in the mud?

Well, sometimes…if I can step on frozen snow. 🙂

Mom HATES the season of mud, and she says the word, “GET OUT OF THE MUD!!!” a lot when we’re walking around our complex. Then she cleans my feet off with paper towels when we come inside.

Yes, the beauty of pristine snow must change into that sticky mess!! The ground quickly absorbed our moisture, so mud only lasted a day or two. Sandy soil, you know! We have a bit of a chance of rain tonight and tomorrow night. Sure hope it comes. We were in 70’s over the weekend, now in the 50’s. Quite a yo-yo of temps!
Our bull calves are coming soon!! They fixed fence Monday, need to bring the tank for water and they will be here! So excited!
Blessings!

What is that picture with all the snow in the sky? Is that snow that fell onto a windshield, or is that actually snow falling?

Some beautiful pics of the sky today Linda. I love them. I am also always amazed at your pics of birds in flight with their wings spread out. Pretty cool. Enjoy your melting…..I’m guessing it won’t last too long!
