My oldest daughter took her dogs and went for a walk at the canyon a short ways from us
It one of those magic places where the gentlest of soughing winds play down the canyon floors
And graffiti is slashed and cut and painted onto the canyon walls
But in spite of the human’s destruction. The area still feels like the desert faeries live there in the warm Earth and celebrate life.

So lovely Linda. You’re a lucky woman.

I think so. But many people don’t like canyons with their sudden flash floods, and bugs and snakes and spiders, but I do…they seem like a magical world to me.

Always loved the desert since the time the folks took us to Flaming Gorge.

Beautiful photos! Graffiti in the canyon, even though the butterfly is pretty… so sad.

I know. The butterfly was very well done, but please not on canyon walls.

There just has to be…It’s way too magical there.

It’s too bad some people can’t leave the beauty of the creation alone, but feel they have to ‘improve’ it by adding graffiti.

So many things are ruined because of graffiti, even beautiful graffiti. Sigh

Your title really threw me off. Beautiful scenery and I love the butterfly but so sad that it’s done without permission.

Government land….I guess people feel you can do whatever to it because ‘the people’ own it. 😦

It’s called Fat Man’s Misery for to get to the bottom you have to walk down a crack in the wall.

Desert Faeries? hmm. . . I do happen to like the desert, and find that it is as beautiful as the redwood forests, although not many understand that. The few deserts that I have seen are very different from your region, which looks more like chaparral to me.
