Setting myself to learning a new skill of hand-quilting a quilt
I finally finished.
I’m sure my project would jangle some peoples nerves, but for me
This wee little coverlet spelled lots of delight; echoed with frustration and angst.
Still, it finished and I must say I like it; flaws and all.
I think I want to try another one soon.

That is so beautiful. I love hand crafts. They are soothing and you end up with something to treasure for many years to come.

Oh, bravo! Not for finishing, not because it’s beautiful, but because you began it, and finished it and loved it and want to go again!

It is lovely, why even suggest flaws in such a monumental project?

That is a masterpiece. And, ‘flaws’ is totally subjective. You sound like me when I painted. I was always exhausted after I painted something. I was so emotionally involved in it being ‘perfect’, any perceived mistake was devastating. I look at my paintings, now and I am amazed I did them. Whatever ‘flaws’ I thought happened are lost to time.

You are so kind. I tried painting and gave up…I could see what I wanted to do, but I couldn’t make my hand create what was in my mind.

I don’t paint anymore. Too hard on my old nerves, now. LOL!

It is so lovely, and with one of my favorite flowers. Remember, only God is perfect. It will forever be cherished because of a small flaw…shows it is not machine made, but with loving hands.

That’s true. Someday the grand kids might say…I can do that Grammy did it and it wasn’t perfect š

Oh, that is soooo beautiful, and you did a great job–an heirloom for the generations. You should be so proud. Very few of us do hand quilting anymore so it’s important to keep up the skill. I don’t like the machine quilts as they are too stiff–too much quilting. I quilt mine on a regular sewing machine a follow what the pattern suggests. I also use fluffy polyester batting which is much lighter and fluffier.
Congratulations on a job well done. What’s next?
