Although, it’s still cold here and we still have a fire in the woodstove.ย It is getting warm enough now I can go in JUST FLIP FLOPS!!! YAY!
We are opening up another part of the farm
Clearing away all the dead tree stumps and other brush
We are expanding the land for more pasture and grazing (that is Terry on the four-wheeler checking fences in the Back Forty)
Lots of work, but it will be nice for the horses and for the cows’ next winter.
Three days we worked, finishing late in the evening.
(Terry ran the tractor and I the pick-up and trailer) Thank Heavens for chains and loaders or we couldn’t have moved those ancient old tree stumps.
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
Nice! You are such hard workers. Sure beautiful out there.

It’s hard work, but very satisfying I’m sure.

Those cottonwood stumps look too big for a splitter or you’d have some firewood.

No. Cottonwood stinks. Nasty smells.

I guess so. We don’t seem to stop and I sometimes wonder why we don’t. ๐

You and your amazing centrally-heated feet… You need to find yourself some flipflops with steel toe caps if you’re going to do so much shifting of heavy stuff; I’m sure the OH&S guys would disapprove ๐

I’m sure they would too. Sometimes I do hurt my feet, but when I do I tell myself: “Well, if you would put on real shoes….” ๐ But the thought of covered feet makes me HOT and feel so confined so I live with the occasional hurt.
