A Wee Ghost Time—Where Crazy Things Flicker on the Edges —- Thursday, March 19, 2020

Tuesday, all the Dental Offices the Eye Doctors and whomever else I don’t know about were shut down to patients.

They are open for emergency conditions only.

Thankfully I was considered an emergency.

For you see Tuesday I had surgery to remove a tooth and receive a bone graft to my mouth.

It has been a truly long winter, starting in October with that spider bite.

Thankfully I was able to have the procedure…intense is the word.

I struggled through a couple of long nights with a thundering headache, miserable shivering and magnified bad dreams

I have emerged into a rather cold and brittle March lion/like weather, feeling somewhat better.  All the drugs are now out of my system, (a mouth seems to heal fairly quickly),

And with the knowledge, I don’t want to open my mouth too wide and smile BIG to people I meet for FOUR months. 🙂  🙂

At the end of that time, I will have to decide if I want them to drill into my newly created bone and give me an implant

Or create a flipper.

But that is a spell down the road.  Tuesday, I was blessed. I was the last patient allowed to receive service, the hideous adventure I have been on since October is now winding down toward and end.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

  1. So glad you are feeling better. And just in time for the spring equinox, too! I needed to have some tests run but was going to have to wait for six to eight weeks. With all the cancellations I was able to have all the tests run this week and was very happy to have all of that out of the way. Our luck must be running along similar lines as we now can relax and enjoy the glorious changes spring brings.

  2. I’m glad to hear that your experience rom the spider bite is coming to an end. I’m also delighted to know that you are smiling inwardly, even if you can’t smile outwardly as much as you would like to. I hope and pray that you have a complete and speedy recovery.

  4. Hey you! I know you are still smiling, although it be a small smile. I am so sorry you had to have this done ~ a total bummer. This sounds identical to what Bob had done to two teeth 8-9 years ago. Good news – it was a process, but the implants were a good thing and he hasn’t had a problem since. I know it will all work out for you and we’ll be eating steak in July 🙂
    )))hugs(((

  8. I am so glad you have had that diseased tooth removed (you know I can relate) and that they deemed it an emergency…because, it was. If you were shivering and having bad dreams, it abscessed, just like mine. I hope the antibacterial/antiviral foods are helping.

I assume that you needed a bone graph because there was jawbone damage or is it for something else? I didn’t get a bone graph.
