Terry and I were out working in the alfalfa field, he was marking out the field
Beaglie and I were setting out the siphon tubes
Boomer has decided that his work now is to just stay on the four-wheeler.
My little dog is getting old. Rather sad.
When I noticed HUGE flames soaring high at the end of our farm
Then I saw Terry getting off the tractor and heading to the edge of one of our hills.
By the time Boomer and I made it to the rocky point the fire was out…but O! MY! Was that every scary!
Fire is a most frightening thing! Frightening!
Back home I opened my email and there waiting for me (and for you)
All the way from Australia was a rainbow! “This morning, walking Mouse, I saw this and thought of you ”
Kate
WOW! A perfect sign of Hope!
From my world to your heart,
Oh, my word! That must have been terrifying! Glad it was put out before more harm was done. Take care, dear friend.

Is that a planting preparation? Did it hop to your property?

Some like to fire off their land, we never do. Terry tries hard to build good soil all the time. Some farmers think fire adds nitrogen…we feel it doesn’t add enough to warrant. Others fire the land to get rid of the trash so the work load is reduced.

Interesting. Ken used to burn the tops of some bulbs beside our walkway. He said it helped them to come back fresh each year. Iris bulbs as I recall…

I’ve never quite understood the advantage of burning the land in this day and age. I’m glad the fire was put out fairly quickly. Thanks for sharing the rainbow with us.

Coloradans should know better than treat a fire with disrespect. Wildfire season is real!

I remember that. Please tell your Dad that I can’t comment on your blog posts. WordPress doesn’t like my address or something. Anyway. Boomer wanted Lulu to know that there is nothing better than a fresh dug hole in the grass to lay in!
