Mom and I have had a hard time adjusting to ‘Life without Boomer’. It is terribly hard.
The day Boomer went over the rainbow bridge I stopped by his hospital bed and stared and stared at him.
Then I quickly ran over and sat by him for a tiny bit.
After that, I went outside and didn’t come back in for two days.
I just couldn’t.
I watched Mom and Dad bury Boomer by Sam-Sam, and Fuzzy, but I didn’t come over where they were putting Boomer’s shell.
Boomer wasn’t there.
The house is empty without Boomer.
The Yard is empty without Boomer.
So, I stay busy.
Finally, I decided I needed to come in and be with Mom.
Mom needs lots of purrs and kitty rubs now because…. well, you know why.
Then it stormed so I stayed inside. After all wet feet and wet fur are COLD.
It’s warming up some, now, so I help Mom—inside the house and out in the yard.
There are lots of things that must be done.
I look for
Find
And bring to Mom
MICE!
She always always gives me a big kitty pet and tells me what a good kitty I am.
After that, I eat the mouse!
It’s a win-win for Mom and ME!

Oh Mindy, I know how hard it is for you and mom now. I am so sorry about Boomer and how lonely it is now. Mom needs your purrs and you need her pets and loving. Hugs for you both.

Animals grieve the loss of familiar companions…other animals & people. It’s so sad.

Mindy, you are such an brave and thoughtful cat to step in and send us a Friday report. We all miss Boomer very much, but it is good to know you take care of farm surveillance and of your Mom. She probably even appreciates the mice 🙂

You are a good kitty, M. Doing all the good work of the spirit and of farmlife. We miss our friend Boomer, too, but we like sharing your adventures – except the eating of the dead mousies. That fried our city-girl brains a little.

They are yummy good, really. Ahhhhhhh well, most of the time. Sometimes I get one that tastes YUCK so I have to throw it up. Mom always says—OH MINDY…icky. Then gets the shovel and buries my lunch and the mouse. Shish. Mindy

She really like my mice. BUT…after I get my pets I EAT the Mice…I don’t share that far. 🙂 Mindy

I know. It’s hard to loose a friend, whether 2 or 4 legged. It’s just hard. I am glad you are there with mom & dad, cuz well, I know they need your love & sweetness everyday.
So Min Min, remember all those things that Boomer taught you ~ they are very important when you live on the farm. We’ll all hold Boomer near in our hearts. So take care sweetie. We’ll see you again soon ~ Give Mom a hug for me.

I help Dad the most. Dad is my mostest favorite person, then Mom. Dad said Boomer was Mom and I am his. Well, that works for me. Mindy
