I heard then saw a small flock heading north about 11:20am today. I’ve found the sandhills are a more reliable indicator of spring than the robins. Hearing them call while flying overhead leaves me feeling restless.
Charlee: “Ooh, it’s the big birds with the big pointy noises again!”
Chaplin: “We sure would like to meet them!”
Lulu: “You always say that, but I’m pretty sure that if you actually met one you would just run away from it.”
That is so cool. How in the world did you get them coming to your farm?

They haven’t left us yet. I am still waiting for the Western Bluebirds to show up—they mean SPRING

Hopefully the arrival of the cranes means that Spring is on the way!

Well, actually they are winter birds here. As the weather warms they will head back to their breeding grounds and leave us
