We raise corn for feed, feed for animals. Terry has been waiting for the right level of moisture to occur in kernels, and we are THERE! Yeah!
Of course there are bigger farmers out there, and farmers who have newer equipment (Terry says he loves rust), but ours works for us.
To me this harvest is always about harvesting gold.

A beautiful sight indeed! Thanks for sharing.

You may add my blog too! I’m so flattered – thanks :-D.
I used to get ear corn to add to our horses winter feed and LOVED to drive home from our farming friends that raised it with a whole load in the back of the truck. It does look like gold!

Linda,
I also took time to read back through your blog and as a genealogy crazy (thats what my kids call it, I think it is from making them walk graveyards with me) I love what you have done with your history. I am honored you would want to link to my blog, thank you.
I tryed to do that for you but it only goes to wordpress, suggestions on how to make it work?

I loved the photos. Life on a farm is so satisfying and I just wish more people would learn the work that goes into running a farm.
I wanted to ask your permission to do a review of your blog on my blog. I enjoy my time here and I’d like more people to discover you.

Farm equipment is not supposed to look pretty. It’s supposed to look rustic and nostalgic. Oh wait, that’s just crazy artist talk. It’s supposed to work.

I agree. Right now the corn is worth it’s weight it gold!
I am happy you had some to harvest. With the drought here, our corn didn’t make enought to fit in a five gallon bucket. We irrigated the garden and thank goodness had a lot of produce to put in the freezer, but the animal feed is very high.
and that equipment looks just fine.
Have a great day.
