Rainbow Snow

It’s cold here!

We started a fire in the wood stove, it’s just that cold.

According to the Farmer’s Almanac winter is going to be rough for some of us.

Sadly we seem to be jumping from almost fall right into winter.

But in the midst of the rain, wind, sleet, hail, and almost snow I saw this!

 Rainbow-Snow

(Look real close-I forgot to enlarge it)

In spite of everything there are still rainbows.

  1. You manage to capture some of the most beautiful photos Linda…
I too wonder what it means…..

By the size and amount of the acorns falling, it’s going to be a long, cold winter here as well.

  2. WOW<—-amidst the ugly of fast approaching winter weather You actually capture a RAINBOW! That's amazing.
I am sure the American Indians must have the cultural meaning of seeing that RAINBOW!
….If you figure out the mystery of it, let us know!

  3. Interesting looking sky. As I mentioned before, summer came here too soon and we experienced a few very hot days but now it has cooled down again to normal spring weather. Maybe you too will get warmer autumn days again before winter really comes. One thing, though: there’s nothing we can do about the weather, we just have to take what mother nature dishes up for us. Cheers, Bill.

  4. O! I DID miss that until you said to look real close and there it was. How could that even eXIST in the middle of that sky? You take THE most gorgeous sky pictures. I know you’re getting cold early but the fire and snow possibilities sound awfully nice!

  5. I had never seen a rainbow here until you started seeing them and now they seem to follow me. When I see them, I always stop and think of you and thank you for sending them my way. Beautiful photo! I’ve heard about all the snow in Colorado but I’m not envious. It will be here soon enough.

  6. You got a snow rainbow..you are very lucky..and I am jealous! I have yet to see even one rainbow..and now since it is icy rain and snow..I probably won’t either. The Farmers Almanac is always very interesting.. we are right on the line between bitterly cold and snowy and cold..my guess is that it will be cold..it already has a good start.. I got my parka out..no sense looking fashionable and cold:)
