Every year I get out my special Thanksgiving decorations. They are a homely group of items:
A tablecloth and pilgrim candles of my mothers
A set of pilgrims our daughter Kimberly made in the Second Grade
A Mayflower Evan made in the Second Grade
A turkey our oldest daughter Shannon made in the Third Grade
A pinecone turkey (with googlie eyes) our youngest daughter Misty made in the First Grade
I’ve added some toy ‘dancing’ turkeys that the grandchildren love
and a flower bouquet just for me.
This is my Thanksgiving…a blessing of memories from those I love.
I also want to wish each and every one of you a Special Thanksgiving day. I will not be posting again until Monday as we are putting up the frame for the barn and we will be a wee bit busy.
Another rather nice thing is I DO NOT HAVE TO COOK!
YEAH! Hip Hip Hooray!
Oh! Sorry! Shouldn’t have expressed such elated joy.
BUT! OH! WELL!!!
I don’t have to cook….YEAH!
Happy Thanksgiving, Dear Friends!
Linda

Hehe. No cooking here either. As much as I love to be the Thanksgiving Hostess, it is nice to have a break on the odd years when the kids all go to their inlaws. Loved your collection of decorations.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Linda –
I think your decorations are wonderful……beautiful memories as you said of people who mean so much to you.
Now that my children are older I have a “few” of those great decorations as well and I’m very proud to display them 🙂
Good luck putting up the frame of the barn. I wish we lived closer – we would love to help! Will look forward to pictures –

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your hubby, Linda. Just don’t work too hard! I’m having my daughter and her hubby and boys and her in-laws here on the farm on Thursday. We potluck it, so one person is not doing all the cooking. I’m very thankful–cotton harvesting is done! and it all looked real good. Next, it’s time to get going on Christmas stuff. Time flies! Take care.

Aren’t the decorations we collect over the years so precious to us? Every time I bring them out on holidays, memories overwhelm me. I’ve been thinking about you although I’m behind on my visiting. We are that much closer to Colorado and I hope to get MM out to visit in the spring.
A very wonderful Thanksgiving to you!
