-7* as I headed to work today!
Brrrr. Its 16* right now and its 1:30 in the afternoon so you know the temperature is heading down.
Of course, this is nothing compared to Canada.
Plus the snow cover is really good for protecting the plants.
The cows, goats, sheep, and deer don’t like eating snowballs, either.
The new ‘lack of snowplowing’ (unless at certain times of the day) leads to some Very interesting driving to and from work.
Out our way, the plows come around noon.
Part of my job requires me to report to our satellite campus, one hour’s drive-time from the main campus.
At least three days a week.
Having to be there by 7:00 in the morning means I really do miss having a snow plow come down our country roads.
Still noon is better than not at all.
Work has me stretched way beyond what I can seem to get done.
But, HEY! I have a job!
Maybe it just seems hard because I have to drive on frozen roads.
Stay Warm out there!
Linda

Do you have to put chains on the car wheels when driving to work? The road looks pretty slippery. It sure appears that you got a lot of snow and your blog seems to have what appears to have snow flakes on it????? Pretty clever, I must say – pity they don’t give off some cold weather for us here in Australia instead of us all sweltering!
Cheers

Linda, you do some serious driving, I hope you have an all wheel drive vehicle. Please stay safe. If it makes you feel any better it’s been snowing all day here and my “girls” are really feeling “cooped up”! Blessings to you.

Buck-up it’s warmed considerably here in the past few hours……..if that’s any consolation. It’s snowing again though.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr is right – that’s cold!!!
It’s so hard to believe they can just stop plowing snow from 7 to 5. What are folks supposed to do when the snow piles up?
I know municipalities need to save money but I don’t see how they are going to do that by not plowing.
Everyone must need 4 x 4 to get around on unplowed roads.
Stay warm!

oh my goodness…that is cool. Now i feel bad for complaining about it being 30 here. :o) My poor chickens have ice blocks for feet. And my rooster doesn’t know what to do–he’s being a mean punk with all this cold. I seriously think he’ll become a table decoration before they forecast it warming up.
Stay warm and drive safe!

Oh, my! It looks really pretty, but having to do all that driving in the snow wouldn’t make me happy. Job yes! But driving in the snow is scary. And yes, I agree with Linda, love the snow flakes!

That is one of my FAVORITE reasons to do day care. I don’t have to get out and drive in this weather. It is 7 here right now. I left a bag of salad in the car tonight while we ate at a friends house and I think it may be unsaveable after the almost freeze.

I love the views on your pictures, but having to drive on this kind of roads isn’t my favorite thing. Keep warm and save !

It looks so prettybut dangerous for driving.I cannot immagine going to work in -7 degrees F. Although at the moment I could just run into that snow and roll in it too cool off. As Colin said we are having a heat wave at the moment.

-7!! Brrrrr. Takes me back to North Dakota. Course -7 would be t-shirt weather there. Reminds me of the time when I had to walk to work 30 below. Well…it was only about a half mile but………! 🙂

Yikes – and I thought I had it bad and complaining about pulling on all the layers of clothing just to walk the short distance to work aka the barn. Beats driving an hour in 7 degrees!

Now that’s cold! -22ºC on our scale. The reason I left Switzerland when I was 24 years old, for a warmer climate. But I do remember, especially trying to start a car early in the morning or even getting the key into the lock, I don’t miss that. On the other hand, you might have a white Christmas. All the best, Linda.
