The Frozen World by Emilie Simon
The sun kissed the ice
It glistens for me
And we are one again
We belong to the frozen world
-12* this morning with a wind chill to -24*. I think Canada’s weather slipped into Colorado! 🙂
Snow is predicted for this weekend.
Which is okay by me because It Has To Warm Up To Snow!
YEAH!
But as Leenie posted about one day:
Oh, how I love The Rockies when the snow’s up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter and your nose is frozen shut.
Yes, the winter here is wonderous so I guess I’ll hang around.
I could never leave The Rockies–I’m frozen to the ground.

Before you leave blog reading, please head over to Leenie’s blog she took photos of fogbows.
Rainbows in the fog!
They are as beautiful as a summer rainbow!
You just have to go see them!
And a very special THANKS to Deb for my hand-made driving gloves!
The wool raised, spun, dyed and knitted by Deb just for me! (And in my favorite color, also!)
They sure are nice on these cold winter morning!
Linda

Living where we do certainly guarantees we will have a fine variety of weather! We have WAY below zero here in Idaho as well. This afternoon it “warmed up” to nine. Nose is frozen shut for sure. I truly enjoy sharing blogland with you, Linda. Those gloves are superb!

I must admit, the scenery is great with the snow on the trees. Do you have cattle, and if so, are they in a barn?
Cheers,

I’ve said it before, but your photos really just take me back so much to wintery days. I’d forgotten how it doesn’t snow when it is ‘too cold to snow’. One day in North Dakota it ‘warmed up’ to ten below. And it was really warm outside. Everybody was out without coats. I wrote alot about those ND days after I moved from there. I should find it and blog those paragraphs.

Brrrr! Thanks for answering the question of why we remain living in the frigid country….we are frozen to the ground!! That lil poem applies to South Dakota too!!!
Wool gloves made just for you? How “warm” is that? Beautiful color too!

Love those gloves and that poem is so funny! We have had the frozen shut nose around here for awhile. It is warming up though. It could be 40 on Saturday.

Growing up in MN I heard this ALOT:MN has 2 seasons winter and road construction. I think every state with winter extremes has their own little sayings that reflect a pride in toughing it out! Very cute driving gloves.

The poem is great and I love the joy in “it has to warm up to snow” :-D. We are supposed to hit 56 today, but cold(ish) again later in the week.

I love the look of that kind of weather… however I don’t want to be out in it! Don’t know how you get up and get to work every morning! 🙂
