They have cut off the water for another year.
I always hate to see the water go out of the canal. Although, it is wickedly fast and dangerous it still has a beautiful sound which I love to hear.
Just another sign of approaching winter.
Oh, well! I best get my head around it, for there is no way I’m going to stop winter from coming.

It is coming all too soon for me too.

Is the water for irrigation? Yor kind of farming is very different to where we are.

I understand why you enjoy hearing the water… It’s like having your own creek. Right?????
Unfortunately, winter is coming—and winter is coming here this weekend. We are supposed to have rain/snow flurries and temps in the 20’s… Yipes!!!!!
Hugs,

It’s kind of like having a seasonal creek except it dries in the winter instead on the summer.

Isn’t it something. The passage of time. The water only seems to magnify it.
Do you listen to any contemporary Christian music? There are several that I love that have to do with water and the Holy Spirit.
Steven Curtis Chapman has an upbeat “Dive” about leaps of faith into God’s plan for our lives, and Nicole Nordeman has a ballad “Rolling River God” about how we are shaped and molded by the movement of God in our lives, as water over stones. I’m sure there are more, but they are not coming to me. Both of these artists are gifted with talent from the Lord. So many meaningful songs from them.
Hope you enjoy them. :o)

I never thought of a water cut-off as a signal for the approach of winter, but now that you mention it, it does make sense. I’m not looking forward to winter, either, but we’re expecting a freeze tonight.
