We got 6-8 inches last night, and this morning even the squirrels were getting bogged down in it. It was pretty funny watching them taking a nosedive with each and every jump!
Linda~ how is the weather in your part of the country? Our snowstorm is beginning to subside, 16 inches of fresh fallen snow and the wind is howling. Hope you are all well, blessings from Maine. ~
Very neat! Tracking is about the only thing I like about snow and you did a nice job of getting pics. Mine always look terrible. Hope you are staying warm.
Footprints in the snow!!!!!! Love seeing all of the different prints –and wondering who they might belong to…. When we walk in the snow up here, we see all kinds of footprints —and many of them I have no idea who they belong to… Some wild critters I’m sure—or maybe not so wild!!! ha
Hugs,
Betsy
It’s raining here this morning, and it should remain well above freezing for the next few days – I might even be able to wear my ordinary winter boots, instead of the heavy duty ones!
I love snow prints! I especially like to see my footprint with a dog’s inside and a cat’s inside that – the vision of us all walking back and forth on the same path all day.

Sorry that I have to do this this way – HAPPY BIRTHDAY for the weekend over your
way.
I was hoping that I could contact you for your BIG DAY, by
normal means but I can’t. The website is down for my e-mails from Brisbane
and I don’t think it will be functional for a few more days, so the only option is by this
way. I will be thinking of you and your freezing weather – “Stories in the Snow”.
Brisbane is a total mess – seems that God doesn’t like those at present below the
Equator – also Brazil and now South Africa.
I just wish I was younger and could volunteer to help in the “gigantic” clean-up.
but I can’t. Makes you feel totally useless.
Delete this if you see fit, but it is the only way to “wish a great friend and very
informative person on Colorado Farm Life”.
Cheers

I just love to get up early in the morning (well – not in Phoenix) and see the tracks of all the little and big visitors.

Aw but what kind of bird that’s foot is long and narrow like that? Interesting.

I love that about fresh snow. So many neat tracks out there. I like that first one, I’ve never seen that before, but I agree, bird.

The first one looks like a two point landing…fun! So are all the other snow stories. Love the cow tracks. Used to see too many, now seldom see them.

If you’ve got snow, it must have warmed up a little… 🙂
No idea about either of the first two… but the second one could also be field mice – they do seem to be around a dry cornstalk.

I love trying to figure out tracks even guessing who’s truck drove in the yard by the kind of tires.

I love it! The tracks are so interesting! Buck is funny in the snow, hopping everywhere he goes. Of course the snow is up his nose.
