A Sure Sign of Spring

Along the fence rows, ditch banks, and our hillsides—- lives this delightful little plant.  It may be cold to me, but when I see this I know spring has arrived!

Guess what we had for supper?

  1. Asparagus ? 🙂 Looks and sounds good! We did have a little sun today but it is right back to being cloudy again. I am loving all the spring flowers popping up out of the ground though!

  2. Glad the asparagus in your neighborhood is coming along so well. A lot of it around here has been taken out by herbicides meant to clear ditch banks. The rest is guarded by big dogs or noisy geese. I have to buy mine at the store now. >:o(

  3. Not here yet has anything arrived except for more snow and cold. Flooding will happen and it’s not looking good.

This is a special plant and any of you who wok it if you have not used asparagus give it a try as that imparts a flavor you would not believe.

  4. I LOVE asparagus! I do it on the grill -run skewers horizontally through the stalks, coat with olive oil and herb sprinkle and grill. Delish!

  6. Hi Linda, Just stopping by to say HI…. Yum–bet that asparagus was good. I think it costs about $5 in the store these days.. ha

It’s been a strange week for me –so I apologize for not being around much. We got lucky yesterday and didn’t get any severe weather from the tornadoes and storms. BUT–we had warnings off and on all day long –and the tornado sirens blared TWICE… Scary!!!!

Let’s pray for all who lost so much due to the storms. We were some of the lucky ones.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  7. Hi, I was going to comment on your newest post, but it shows that your comments are off, so I will say hello here. There are some things I find harder to learn how to do as well……………but in the long run, with the things I know how to do, it seems to work out. Nothing better than asparagus! blessings,Kathleen
