The Ring of Fire Soalr Eclipse happened right on time yesterday evening. I had a hard time trying to figure out how to take a photo of it
- First I tried regular glasses that turn dark when you go outside
- Then I tried sun glasses
- Then Terry remembered his welding helmet….nope, it needed an arc for it to darken
- Then he remembered he had his OLD welding helmet
IT WORKED! But only for our eyes….I couldn’t get the camera to get a decent shot through the tiny vision glass.
But we got to see the eclipse even if I couldn’t take a photo.
The whole thing was really cool…and will not be back to our section of the earth until 2045…I’ll be surprised if anyone living here on our farm will be alive at that time.
But one never knows……

Cool pictures! We saw it too … through my husbands fancy super zoom powered camera, but no pictures that did it justice. It was a very neat to see though!

Wasn’t it exciting to witness!!? We used a welding helmet lens here too. I had to put my camera on manual to get photos. We are too far north and missed the “ring of fire” but saw almost the whole event before the sun and moon slipped into clouds on the horizon.

So glad you got to see it, Linda… We couldn’t see it here. Sigh!!!!! That is so special….. Did your chickens go to roost early????
Thanks for sharing.

I think it’s neat that you were able to see the eclipse, even if you couldn’t get the photo you wanted. The clouds were so thick here that we didn’t even see a partial eclipse.

WE were disappointed that we would not be able to see it. I’m glad you did.

I’m green with envy. 🙂 All we could see was rain falling out of the sky. Boo. We marked our calendars for Aug 2017 for the next total eclipse, and if the weather forecast calls for clouds or rain, maybe we could come for a visit? 🙂

I’d forgotten all about it until I saw Mikey mention it on Facebook. I’d noticed it was getting dark out and wondered why. I just took a few with my camera aimed in the general direction.

I didn’t remember it, haha. We’ve been very cloudy on and off with predictions of rain so if it got dark, I didn’t notice. Oh well. Glad you got to see it! :o)
