Storm Blowing In

My drive to work in Paonia today was beautiful!  Just beautiful!  The whole day has been a day of wonder… when I woke up this morning a fox was sitting on the back door steps.  I think he was as shocked as I was that I opened the door and found him/her there.

Now the cat wasn’t too happy about it, Sammy changed his mind real fast about not wanting to go outside.

He didn’t need to worry … the fox left just a fast as a blink of an eye.  I went out and checked to make sure he was gone and that the chickens were safe.  Still Sammy stayed in the house until it was starting to get lighter in the sky, then he must have decided that the fox would be gone and went out.

We have a storm coming in today/night with rain and snow so I suppose the colors will soon be gone.  The earth has turned enough that we are now looking at snow.

Our corn is still to high of moisture to start combining…we are coming in around 20%.  The rain will keep the moisture up there, but once we start having snow we should see the air starting to dry out and the moisture in the corn dropping
