Things are really busy here again. The 6 days off has us back up and running. Terry is doing repairs on the two bean combines, getting them ready for next year’s harvest. Get everything ready now so nothing is last minute next year.
The yard has frozen so I’ve been cleaning up the dead stuff. I try to leave as many seeds and food items for the birds over the winter, but I do get rid of the weeds. I also just finished planting the last of my tulips.
Anyway…..the four of us had picked out four things we would like to do or see while we were in the Black Hills. Our motel was in Custer, which was a perfect location to travel to and from, it was really rather central to our needs.
We got in the afternoon so we still had time
to head out to Custer State Park to see Sylvan Lake, on Carolyn’s ‘want to see’ stops.
The lake was just beautiful! The walk around the lake not hard and the colors delightful!
We pronouced the experience PERFECT!
On the way out of Custer State Park, we saw an American Bison
Terry and Carolyn were very patient with Wayne and I….we have our cameras out all the time. But those of you who blog so understand!
We all wanted to see Mount Rushmore, it was on Terry’s main “I want to see for sure list”
Amazing!
The walkway to the viewing site is outstanding also…each state is represented with flags and a bit of information about the state.
I so recommend everyone, if you get a chance to go…please take it, you will not be sorry.
Part 2 coming up next!
Linda
