One thing about farm sales it is a great place to socialize, even if you don’t buy. Of course if you do buy then it is a great place to find something cool.
The sad thing about farm sales, it also means someone is leaving, being bought out, died, or a subdivision pushed them out.

I would love to have a Christmas picture taken by that old red truck…I was going to show it to Rich to get a year and make. Of course all he has to do is look. He may end up saying lets go see that car place…lol.. I was trying to remember if you are in Delta. I had a friend move there about 1970…Neuenschawander… That would be hard to forget, He was only there a year before he left for college.

I get so sad whenever I read about a farm sale. Here in Vermont they are happening all to frequently and they always seem to be getting subdivided. Farmers are having a tough time in this economy. I hope we can hang on to our land forever but it’s tough.

I would love to be added to your blog roll. I’m going to be updating mine this weekend and I’d love to add you too.
Yes, Mountain Man and I both agree with you about the land trust issue.
Thank you so much for the kind comments on my blog. I appreciate them more than I can say.

That is kind of sad….did you find anything interesting at the sale (if you went?) I equally get sad when I read someone is dispersing their herd of horses. Sometimes I know breeders just do that, other times, I know they are leaving the breed, business, or retiring…I always think it is sad to lose their lifetime of horses.

Farm sales always are sad for all the reasons you said.
We never go to them anymore. Mostly because Daryl’s hand does way too much waving at one of them. Then the pickup ends up full of stuff we dont need.
Daryl is an auctioneer. Went to school for it when he was 16 yrs old. Never made a business of it tho.
