Soccer and Being in the First Grade (according to Bladen)

Organized sports are such a fun thing, especially when you are in the first grade and you get a neat shirt with your last name on it, “Like Dad has”.

That is worry on his face, he was afraid he won’t do well.mccormick2

“Only Dad’s say Football, or Basketball, or Track and also say Coach” I was informed.

But the “REALLY BEST THING is getting to run ALL the time!  Football is ‘okay’ but soccer is the best BECAUSE  YOU GET TO RUN ALL THE TIME!”

  1. What a great blog. I just stumbled across it by accident. You must lead an interesting life out there in rural America. We only ever see cities or accidents or political stuff here on TV. As I said – great blog.
    Cheers from Down-Under.

  2. I remember when my youngest boy was about 5 and having his first T ball game. He fell asleep on the couch with a bad headache before the game. since he had got ready so early (because of the uniform) he was able to sleep awhile then go. we found out the reason he was so worried is he thought it would be like his big brothers games( which the poor child had been going to his whole life). Todd was 12 and pitching and stealing bases and sliding into home….not at all what little brother would have to do. After the first game he was fine.
