Linkin’s Bike

On Saturday Linkin rode her bike over to Grammy and Grandpa’s.  Deciding that she didn’t want to ride her bike, with her basket full of stuff animals way down the gravel/dirt lane, she parked the bike by the side of the road, (off the road next to our property fence) and ran down to see us.

By the time she was ready to go home, the bike, with the basket full of stuffed animals, was missing.  Just gone!  She looked every where, we went down and looked, and her Momma looked, no bike.  A very heart-broken little girl went home that night.

The next day she asked her Daddy to make a sign and put it where her bike was; maybe someone would bring it back.

I hope someone will, we will just have to wait and see.

  1. Wow, life has changed even out in the country. She must be so heart broken. Maybe you should call your local news station. Seems like ours likes personal stories like that.

  2. What kind of a world do we live in, certainly not the same one we grew up in. I hope whoever “took” Linkin’s bike, was just in need and will return it, stuffed animals and all!

  3. It amazes me that people think that they can just help themselves to other peoples belongings, especially a childs…I hope that they are returned safely and Linkin can ride her bike to Grammy and Grandpas again…(maybe all the way down the lane) :0)

  4. how sad! and mean! why would someone take a little kids bike, especially when it was full of their toys.

i hope the people involved have second thoughts and not only return the bike but offer Linkin a heartfelt apology that she deserves.

  5. Oh my goodness!! I’m speechless! You guys are way out in the SAFE areas where these things don’t happen and neighbors look out for each other. That is so wrong on so many levels. I’m praying it comes back to her but if it doesn’t, you tell me where to send a donation toward a new one and the stuffies as well. She needs to know most people will love her and will want to help her, not hurt her.

    I’m so sorry, Linkin!!

  6. How heartbreaking! It is so horrible that our young children have to be introduced to the mean side of life at such a young age. I hope that whoever took it, has a conscience and brings it back to her. So sorry. blessings,Kathleen

  7. Okay, this might get me out there faster – to hunt down whoever would do something like that! Hopefully this is just a “misunderstanding” and they’ll return everything. Please give Linkin a hug for me. I feel so sad for/with her.

  9. Awww, bless her little heart. That is such a sad thing. I know how attached to their stuffed animals and bikes my boys are… so I can only imagine what she must be going through. Poor baby. I hope she gets it back soon.

  10. Poor Linkin, I hope the person feels bad and returns her bike. You wouldn’t think someone would take it in a small rural area, but I guess you just never know in today’s world. So sad. 😦
