A month early!

I hated to say good-bye to this! Gosh it was beautiful! I took lots and lots cuttings so I can start over.

I covered everything up, and waited.
(That is a poor sad Colorado Blue Spruce which needs to be cut down this winter.)

And woke to this, this morning. The poor Angel Trumpets looked so sad I couldn’t photograph them. Just know that fall has offically arrived on our farm.
So sad. I am not ready for it. I think we were spared, but it is close. Enjoyed your last few posts. Always great pictures. Stay warm (o:

I feel your pain Linda – it was 28 degrees the other morning. My gourd and squash plants look so pitiful, all black and shriveled…..blah. I’m just not ready for winter.

Hi Linda, I wondered if you’ve gotten frost or snow yet-it is sure cold here and I can see the Rockies covered with snow. Love the trumpet vine-so beautiful-maybe next year I’ll be able to plant one.
Enjoy the cooler weather inside. Hugs to you today.

Oh your Angel Trumpet was just beautiful! They do not grow well for me, however, they just thrive in the salt air of the Island. I am sorry to hear that frost has arrived at your doorstep, it is just a matter of days for us as well. I feel your pain!

Wow, so soon! First day of Autumn!
My ideal is 5 months of spring, 1 month of summer, 5 months of fall, and 1 month of winter.
I’m getting old-ER.

What’s happening with the world’s weather? You get early frost and us here in Brisbane in winter have 32ºC (90 Deg.F). The world is upside down.

Yeah, we had to tarp and blanket the garden too. Think we may get few more days of nice weather before I have to suck it up and bring in my tomato crop and what is left of the cukes. Sorry about that beauty of a trumpet plant.

Hope your cuttings grow. Keep warm. Look forward to the Autumn colours. We don’t get them in Brisbane.

Isn’t it strange how we are longing for the beauty of fall and then, when the first frost comes, we’re dreaming about the next summer already…

The vine was beautiful, but it will be lovely again come Spring. Your farm looks great in the fog. I’m looking forward to the cold weather and the fogs and rain. The only thing I don’t like about winter is that my daughter has to drive in the yukky weather.

So sorry that you lost all your plants….we have been teetering. Frosts nearby but not quite here yet. We are lucky to be just above the river, which buys us a little time most years. Still I brought all the house plants in, earlier than usual too. We are going to get nailed any day now.
sorry also that I haven’t been keeping up on visits and comments like I should….crazy times here.

We had frost the other morning and we knew it was coming so we covered things also! We haven’t had the real killing frost yet. I hate to close my pond but I think this weekend would be a good time to get my fish out of the pond before it does! Take care. I love your pictures. So sad to see your plants drooping!

:-(. That last picture does completely capture “sad”. I’m not exactly sure why – I guess the lighting. Good catch.

We went down to 30 but we haven’t had that killing frost yet. The veggies are still okay for the moment. I so hate to see the first killing frost.

The angel trumpets just seemed to have outdone theirselves this year. We haven’t had frost yet. It has gotten down in the 40’s the last 2 nights . I had to turn the heat on this morning, I was freezing !
