September’s Song

One day, while working in the late summer garden, I realized that the wind running through corn was like music.

My gift to you…A Wind Lullaby from the Brown Corn Field in Colorado!

  1. Seriously, that made me cry.

And what’s most amazing to me? BEHIND the music of the corn – in the notes written as RESTS – you can hear … nothing. Open. Empty. Boundless silence.

Thank you my friend, I know this sounds totally stupid to anybody who didn’t grow up in the great ‘wide open’, but my heart yearns for that silence.

    Peace.

  2. I love that sound. Sometimes miss the field upon fields of corn. Here in upstate NY we have corn fields but nothing like we did out in Illinois! (where I am from)

  3. That was very cool. Thanks. I find I notice and get pleasure from things that I probably use to totally overlook. Tonight while walking close to sunset, I was amazed at how many nest are swaying in the naked trees. I wondered why I have never noticed them before (o:

  4. That video brings back great memories of running and playing among the corn rows. I remember laying in the row listening to the “music” watching the clouds roll by. Thank you!

  5. Almost like a joyful chorus of praise. Reminds me of the trees of the field, clapping their hands. Really, if I close my eyes, it sounds like applause. :o)
