When walking close to our place, it is a joy to come across wildlife
He/she stayed very still for me, letting me approach, even so much as politely waiting for me to snap the camera
You can’t tell but he/she is watching me. America’s symbol of strength and freedom….
In the flesh (er..feathers)

How lucky you were to snap such good pictures! We don’t have eagles in our area and I think they are beautiful. blessings,Kathleen

Great shot! A Bald Eagle near your place!!!!!
This entry sent me hurriedly to “google” it and find out the history.
Quite interesting if anyone wants to read it.
Maybe the presence of the eagle means warmer weather approaching???????
Cheers

That is so cool! I don’t think I have ever seen a bald eagle in person or should I say in the feathers 🙂

What a treat! I did a search and found that eagles winter in California and Colorado (except for the very top where they are year-round.)
I have never seen a bald eagle around here, but it’s nice to know there is a chance I might spot one someday.

How neat! They are so rare to see anymore, it seems. I’ve never seen one here in AZ but I know they are out there in places. Beautiful gorgeous birds.

wish I could just walk by one. My daughter lives where some can be viewed…so I will try to see them there. She hasn’t been there long.

Oh – my – I am SO excited for you!!! That is a real experience to see one like that! Good for you – and you actually had your camera? Wow! I saw one on the road eating some road kill once when we lived out there. He didn’t fly away when I got close either – just stood there and stared me down as I drove by him slowly. And they are BIG!
Glad you got the pictures to share your great find with us! :0)

Nice shots. I used to get to Eagle watch every day at our other place it is something I really miss. I used to be able to come home after a crummy day sit on the deck and watch the eagles, they are amazing to see fishing and man can they swim. oh no I’m making myself crabby…..well that’s enough of that. Things change. I’m glad I got to see it here.

So pretty and fun to see them in the wild. We have alot of eagles along the Mississippi, up river they stay all year long in a spot that doesn’t freeze over. It is fun to watch them at the edge of the ice waiting for their next meal. We have seen 20-30 in one spot at times.
