We have it too. Maybe six inches and no power outages. It was awful road conditions to get to the place we had the reception…but lots came and no one had an accident. So thankful for that (o:

We just had to get more winter, didn’t we? We’re to get 3-6″ starting this afternoon. Went to town to get food for the critters and birds. Can’t neglect them in bad weather. I’m sure glad we don’t have our baby chicks yet.

Hi there, Looks like what we had this weekend-ours was really wet..but today is sunny and cold.
Reggie is doing fine today-it will be interesting to see how he continues since he is off the med’s now. Have a warm afternoon and night.

Sorry about the new batch of snow – it is beautiful here now. Today, there, at present is, not one cloud to be seen, could heat up and then maybe with the strange going-ons, it could
be teeming rain in a couple of hours. I am off to Toowong Village, like last week, to do shopping – the day that the freak storm hit!!!! I don’t want that to happen again. I will
be closing all the windows before I leave, to be on the side of safety.
Your daily photos of the changing weather in Colorado, if I was not seeing them, I am sure I would not believe. One day, all snow gone and you are able to “prune” that lilac tree, next day, the tree is covered in snow!!! Is this normal every year, or is this just a ‘freakish’ winter?

If you have access to some willow cut some branches & stick them in with the lilac branches. The willow has a natural rooting hormone in it, works every time for me

We just have to keep telling ourselves its February though we long for spring weather and warmth. Maybe March will give us a taste of the weather we long for after being chilled to the bone by the cold winds of winters.

I have a lot of lilacs and love them!
You know you are cutting off next year’s bloom. Lilacs set bloom for the following year in the early fall. The best time to prune them is immediately after they bloom in the summer. It looks as though you have left lots of branches, though, so you will probably still get blooms on the old branches that are left.
Our place looks like that too, cold and snowy. No spring yet. I know it is just around the corner.

They are in Missouri, our daughter e-mailed us a picture of a tree full of robins. She thinks she can lay claim to seeing the first one of the year…it doesn’t count when yo move 8 hours south. Your snow is lovely. I do hope the lilac is ok.
