The weather is sort of holding. It’s been warm enough the last two days we haven’t had to run the wood stove.
We have been having lots of wind so the combination (warm days and wind) has the corn ground ready for seed.
Another storm is to blow in tonight with temperatures dropping into the low 50’s.
My prune trees will probably get frozen, but at least I have lovely blossoms.
And we’ve been cold enough the daffodils have continued to bloom for a long, long time.
There really is good things mixed in with the hard stuff, if you just pay attention.
Linda

I love your corn planter!

I don’t know what’s nicer…home grown corn or those really neat daffodils in the spring. I’ll take both!

Hi Linda, I’m sure you have to keep a good attitude –like you have, in order to deal with the weather. There ARE always good things to go with the not-so-good…Love your blooms –and those Daffodils are so pretty…. Ours are all gone and so are the Tulips..
Hugs,

I just want to let you know how much I enjoy your site. My sister was Mary Brown and she
told me about it. I lived in Delta during the early 70’s and I have fond memories of the town
and the many places you mention. You do a wonderful job. My husband and I live in North
Carolina but a piece of my heart still lives in Colorado. Just wanted to let you know.
Keep up the good work…..Patty

Hope planting goes well for you and the weather stays moderate. Soil temps are still too cold for cotton here, but my renter doesn’t have the ground all ready yet, anyway. Your daffodils are really pretty. My iris are just now getting into full bloom. Both are sure signs of Spring.
Blessings!

All that equipment looks very familiar. We planted feed corn for our cows when I was a kid. It grew into a jungle by August. Not much for people food though. Nothing like corn on the cob with butter to say SUMMER. Hope your weather holds. It is pouring rain here tonite.

The farmers are in a frenzy to get all the corn in the ground around here. On my way home from work one field had 2 tractors getting it done.
