If I Could Send You Some I Would

Another huge down pour hit our area yesterday around 5:30 in the evening

The rain was coming in sideways with 50-60 mph wind

I was just finishing up my evening chores when it hit

The weather stations said something big was coming (again) and to prepare for flash floods.

They were so right!  Of course we are on a mesa, but our neighbors in the canyon experienced the roar and thunder of a massive flash flood.

We haven’t pulled the beans yet, nor was the hay down, but still more water is just that more water.

  1. Hi Linda, Happy Friday to you. WE got rain as well but not as much as you did. So glad you didn’t have to deal with flash floods and praying your crops are fine. It seems that two years ago, when we moved here, the grass was much greener in August than it is this year but we’ve had so much more rain-can’t figure it out.
Hope you have a dry weekend.
    Hugs, Noreen

  2. Same here. We are surrounded by county after county of land that is too dry, dead lawns, maturing corn. Meanwhile we get rain every day or so and some days it rains four or five times. We have about given up on baling and are putting it all in the bag. Hope things improve for you soon.

  3. Weird, weird weather. I still wonder who is in charge. And thanks for the offer to send along some pinto beans. We have a good stash of them or I’d take you up on the offer.

  4. I just found this blog the other day and I absolutely love it. I live in Oregon so it’s nice to see another beautiful part of our country. Lately not feeling up to snuff since I lost my thyroid gland a few years ago and right now they have me over medicated so really miserable till I get more blood drawn Saturday. I find your blog so relaxing to me. Thank you so much for sharing…

  5. Hi Linda
That sure was some downpour. If you need any consolation, Brisbane, yesterday was
in a similar predicament! And we don’t need anymore rain for quite some time. So anyone
who wants rain, encourage our “wet stuff” to go to your place! No charge.
    Cheers

  6. Sure hope you can dry out soon. How did the corn handle the strong winds? Did it lay it over? We got some 50 mph winds last Monday, but not much rain with it, so can use a couple of inches more…I have put in my order for some of yours to come West Texas way!

    Blessings!

  7. Beautiful, wet soaking rain! I would be more than glad to take some of this off of your hands! Lots of dark stormy clouds, but no real rain, not enough to count anyway, here in our part of E. Tennessee. Temps are cooling off a bit though and that’s nice.

  8. Funny, my cousin over in Loma is always commenting about the weather. He is always complaining that it is too dry. Except when he says that it is too wet. I asked him if he was ever satisfied. He said no. I better call him and ask him if his cows are under water.

    • We have now cut hay. It’s suppose to be dry for a few days. I hope it stays sunny and warm. Loma is two hours away from us. I’m not sure but thier weather should also come from Utah.

  9. I bet that is totally unexpected! I’d not mind a few drops out in CA. It’s hot and dry…finally. 😉

And thanks, yes I am doing better. Still have residual dizziness but my energy is retuning and the feeling of doom has passed. Phew.
