Finally

I thank each and every one of you for your prayers and wishes for the corn to dry down….it has!  Yesterday it reached below 14% so Terry was able to begin.

What a joy to see that field being mowed down and the corn spilling into the truck

One field should be done tonight.  If the other fields can be done will be up to the moisture content and if the snow stays away.  Another storm is coming in on Friday.

Linki hurried out to the field as soon as she got permission from Mom-mom.

She enjoys helping Grandpa as much as possible.

One field down.  Now if the snow and rain will just stay away…..just for a little while more.  We will be set for winter.

  1. Great news Linda! Hope you get it all done as quick as possible.
You certainly don’t want Australian eastern coast weather there at present.
We are all growing web-feet – and speaking “duck talk”!!! Quack Quack!
Are you able to harvest with spot lights at night?
    Cheers

  2. Prayers are with you that you keep the good weather long enough for the corn to come down! We have gotten nothing but rain and we have flood watches out! Then down in the twenties tonight! High in the thirties for the next few days. Finally feeling like December.

  3. Great Day when the combines can roll!!

There are a number of corn fields still standing in our area and it has been snowing since the Sunday before Thanksgiving. We were bitter cold a few days, too, -17* the day before Thanksgiving. Today it warmed up and rained some causing more problems on the roads. Winter has arrived!

  5. Hooray!! So glad to see that you can get in the fields. I’ll do a sunshine dance, so the rain and snow will stay away!!

    Blessings!
