Cold here in SW Iowa too after the 12 inch snowfall yesterday. Supposed to dip down to ten below and stay very cold for quite a few days.
Thanks for the pic, always good, and thanks too for the quotes over on Linda Pierson’s site. Always enjoyable.
I’m glad you survived the frosty air. Sometimes you just have to bundle up and GO or go crazy. It was pretty icy here today too. My glasses fog up when I get the scarf up over my nose. I don’t know which is worse, no glasses or foggy ones.
Gee Whiz—-I have never been in temperatures that low I don’t think.. We’ve gone down to zero a few times but never into the minuses…. That just makes me shiver –thinking about it…. Brrrrrrr…
Linda – far too cold for me to even imagine. For God’s sake drive carefully.
Sorry for using this magnificent blog of yours for information
just in case you are wondering why I am not replying.
Hopefully by the weekend all this e-mail business will be corrected.
The river system here is expected to peak tomorrow morning at 4.00am
and again at 4.00pm, both times subject to “King tides”.
The e-mail facilities here in Brisbane are not working due to
the flooding. My server is in the CBD!
See Linda of Alberta’s blog, report. These are blogs for your
viewers to see.
I have been told that the water is 4 streets away but has no hope
of reaching my place. Brisbane CBD is in complete “lock down”.
What scares me most is the appearances of snakes! And they are of the
deadly variety.
One of my favourite restaurants on a pier like structure over the
Brisbane River got hit by debries and the mooring was cut. The Restaurant
is now a smashed wreck somewhere in the Brisbane River! Maybe you saw it
on US news?
The estimated cost of all this will make “Cyclone Katrina” look like a “mini circus”.
The emergency services are doing things that are just unbelievable.
Just for your viewers here are some blogs that they can follow.
The TV coverage is NON STOP – all channels.
Hope you don’t mind my intrusion of your blog?
No cheers this time – maybe after this is cleared up.

You are a better woman than I – we skipped walking knowing today it is supposed to be back in the 20s. Went for the “stay in the house and do training” bit instead!
Oh, Brrrrrrrrrrr!! I think we are cold here; -1* to +16* but that is still cold for north Texas! Despite a heat element in the water, the little goatie girls water froze yesterday and again this a.m.
Your sky picture is really pretty-we are overcast. Take care….
Blessings!

buuuuurrrrr! The lowest our temps got with that arctic front was 7*, but wind chills got to -2* at one point. Ok now, that’s cold enough for me. Just bring on the snow!
Now that is cold! The sky does look pretty, however.
