Daylight is growing longer, on both ends of the day, which is reason for joy on my part.
It’s still cold here. Dropping to 13* or so at night and warming up to 28*-29* in the daytime (what do I expect it IS still January). Randomly it warms up enough to melt some and then freezes again…I know IT IS still January.
But the days really are growing longer so that ignites hope in my heart. I find sitting inside (at work) HARD….renewal is not far off now. I counted the weeks until we start farming (7), of course that means if the weather cooperates, but even THAT gives me hope.
Here is another car, Terry really liked. Who knew that Willys also made a car…or did they?
Linda

When i got my license to drive, my dad bought an old Willys. I thought it was going to be for me, but I got the family car to drive and he took the old Willys. I have fond memories of my father.

I’m noticing, too. It was dark when I got home from work at 5:30. DARK. Now I have abit more evening sky to look at before dark. Time to walk around the place and make sure everything is secure, etc. Sun comes peeking in the window a bit earlier, too. It’s making it’s southern descent little by little. Thank goodness. I’m getting antsy, too. I can always tell when the change happens even before I start watching the sunrise and sunset times on the weather. I’m glad we have seasons around here!

That Willys is some car. Someone spent a lot of time and money fixing this up. We’ve noticed the days getting longer, but I’m still not ready to spend much time outdoors other than getting firewood.

That sure looks cold in your pictures! Brrrrr! I wish I could send you some of our (unneeded) warmth and sunshine. Have a great day!

Love the frosty cattail! Wish there was a stand of them in my pond, instead of the awful phragmites that are trying to take over the world… or at least New England.
It was bitterly cold up here on Monday – 0 when I got up at 5, windchill -10. Yesterday’s “brief snow showers” amounted to 5 inches, and we’ve got more coming tonight… Can it PLEASE be spring?

Linda, yes I am watching the daylight as well. But I just woke up to snow on everything and we are supposed to get 4-8″ by tomorrow. Sigh. Hard to believe spring is coming when everything outside is white.

Only seven weeks! That doesn’t seem too long. I am ready to see my grass again. Now they are saying we are going to get 8-12 inches of snow today.

I always thought Willys just made the famed Jeep.

Hi Linda!
I feel the same way about these days! I just texted my daughter a few days ago and said how joyful I was over it. When the shortest day of the year passes I start leaning forward! So nice to “see” you. 🙂

Tim’s dad watched all ELEVEN hours of some big car auction last week/weekend. I don’t know what it was called, but I’m sure Terry knows. High dollar cars for sure.
