Arctic Air Mass

An arctic air mass is scheduled to come in tonight.  It started snowing around 5:30 this morning, but has stopped now.

Terry and I checked the fences and looked for problems in our false spring.

So far the rabbits have not taken up residence in areas they shouldn’t have, which is good.

And it looks like the coyotes are leaving them alone…at least on this hill.

It was warm enough we sat on the hillside and listened to the red-winged blackbirds sing.  Their songs were just amazing. Usually these little birds don’t show up until its almost spring but with -* weather coming tonight I think they have become confused.

I’ll leave you with Terry’s winter project.

  1. Hi Linda, Wow—that truck looks like it’s almost ready to drive, huh????? ha ha ha… All Terry needs is a Squirrel and some rubber bands, and his engine will do great….. (ME BAD…. Sorry!!!!) ha ha

Hope you don’t get too much of that bad weather. We are only going to get some rain here I think.. BUT–much of the country is going to have an ice storm or a blizzard… Yipes….

I’d love to sit and hear those blackbirds sing also….
    Hugs,

  2. I heard from the in-laws last night it was sposed to hit hard and super cold. Brrr!! Love your red-winged blackbirds. I’ve always had a soft spot for them. Don’t see a whole lot down here, but once in a while….
Love the truck. I bet the car show lit a fire under him 🙂

  3. Hope the weather won’t be too bad for you.
I recognize it as a truck, but did it come that way or is he in the middle of taking it apart, or??? 😉

Good luck to him with that. You all stay safe!

  4. The front is barreling thru here-dropped from 50* to 26* this afternoon. Very cold strong winds. I’ve had lots of red-winged blackbirds this winter, so far. They come to my heated water dish. This bit of Spring weather was quite a teaser, wasn’t it? I’m ready for the real thing and I’ve not had near the weather you have had this winter. I’m just not much of a cold weather person, I guess.

    Blessings!

  5. Oooo, burrrrr! Stay warm. Temps are dropping off the edge here. The guys are bringing in extra wood for the fire. Hope the bunnies and other outdoorsy critters have places to snuggle up for these three dog nights.

  6. I saw on the weather last night that folks your direction were going to get hit. Hope you’re all safe and warm until this thing passes through.

That truck looks like quite a project. Dave and my oldest boy rebuilt a classic back when the kid was just a teenager. I’ll never forget the look on Dave’s face when he found out that kid sold that car for peanuts so he could get a motorcycle. I doubt Dave will ever make that kind of commitment again. He was so proud of that car and it turned out so cool!

  7. Well, as of this afternoon over here in Denver, it’s 7 below and careening downhill tonight for a low of 20 below. Haven’t seen many red wing blackbirds round here yet but, on a short hike in the foothills last week, saw plenty of mt. chickadees and Stellar Bluejays. Everybody stay warm!
