More Spring Work

Ground that was in pinto beans last year does not need to be plowed (in our neck of the high mountain desert).  Therefore, the ripper goes through and opens the field up.

Misty did part and Terry finished it

Everywhere Misty goes…goes Hank (the cowdog)

Back and forth. He is always one tired pup when the day ends.

The apricots are starting to bloom.  I wonder if we will have any this year.  Seems like we get apricots every 5-7 years.  They bloom so early the freezes get them.

I still enjoyed seeing thier lovely bee-feeding blooms poping out.

  1. I have the same problem with my apricot tree. Beautiful blooms EARLY – then a frost or two or three or more – and no apricots. Or just a couple. But every year I hope.

  3. My two peach trees are also blooming and then we had two mornings of below 30*, so am afraid I might not get any fruit this year. However, they are just little trees, so that will give them more growing time. Is to be hot (90*) and very windy today and tomorrow here.

Farmers are working hard here, too. Hank certainly gets his exercise! My grandsons favorite books are Hank, the Cowdog!

  4. Where would we be without our four legged companions? I want to get out and work………..your post makes me want to even more so…………but this week the wind has been blowing the prairie away…………sigh. I am hoping to start an orchard and not sure if I will do apricot trees. They are so pretty in bloom! blessings,Kathleen
