Mornings are still cold, so I get up before Terry, start the fire and by the time 5:30 rolls around the house is toasty warm.

Sure seems late in the year for a morning fire, June is hovering just around the corner.

By the evening it has warmed up enough we have shed our jackets and can work in shirt sleeves.  Then those storms you see gathering in the background make it to us and we are cold and wet again.

Not much happening here.

  1. Hey from Texas. It sure is beautiful up there – love your new header photo. I know you’re tired of the cold and wet, but it’s looking pretty good to me right now. It’s already hot in Texas and it won’t let up til about October. I love seeing that fertile farmland – cool stormy pictures. Don’t worry, it’s gonna warm up soon!

  2. I’m surprised that it is still so cold… all over Colorado. We keep getting ‘teaser’ days, where it is sunny and warm. But, the next day we’re back in the cold!
That’s a great shot of a storm cloud!

  3. That fire looks so cozy. Good for you to be up that early to get things going. It doesn’t sound like you’ll have much chance to slack off when you “retire.” Nice photo of those rain clouds even if they do look mighty black and threatening.

  4. We have had some warm weather but the rains have made it very hard to get kind of ground work done. I will be getting the gardens ready with muck boots on.

  5. While it is in the low 90s here in GA, we did have a week where the temps were in the low 60s just a week or so ago. The indoor temp of my house was under 59 degrees and I couldn’t hack it, so I turned the heat back on that week. (We keep the house at 65).
