The girls and I decorated graves yesterday and stayed for the VFW Memorial service. Always a moving time. I can never see or hear Taps and not think of those who gave thier lives to keep us free…
Me too. I went out to our cemetery early because I thought they’d be doing that but apparently I was too early. Which is unthinkable living here because doing anything after 7:00 a.m. in this state is too hot. Neat photo.
Beautiful photo, Linda. Did you happen to see the flag on Fox News yesterday? They made it from dog tags of those soldiers who had fought for us…. Isn’t that just awesome????
Hugs,
Betsy
Love all THE BIG FLAGS…OUR CEMETERY JUST HAS LITTLE ONES…opps on the caps…lol
I don’t know how I got so far behind….just caught up (o:
Really like the odd cloud….
and of course the Fuzzy post
we had crazy wind on Monday…blew leaves off of the trees.
Great photo! I’ve always thought Taps was such an incredibly moving musical piece. Whoever wrote it captured grief, pride, memories, duty to country, and so much else so precisely!

A great display of flags. We should all be proud of what the flag stands for and NEVER forget. We spent the day visiting cemeteries too.

It is a sad time for all the mothers who lost sons, wives who lost husbands and the list goes on.

I see that those windy days you seem to have frequently are good for something – they really show flags at their finest.
