A Short Trip

We just got back from a short trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota.  We went with Terry’s sister and her husband…the whole experience was just lovely.

We got to visit with Terry’s Mom.  She had fallen at the Assisted Living home and broke her wrist, it was good to see how well she is doing.

Then off we went…first Wyoming,

then South Dakota.  ( I will blog about South Dakota in tomorrow’s post.)

Then on the way back we drove through Nebraska.

After leaving Carolyn’s and Wayne’s we headed to The Rocky Mountain National Park

Driving across the ridge of the Rocky Mountains, into Wolcott, Colorado to home.

We woke up to this!  In the short time we were gone (our trip weather was just perfect) summer left us for good.

The whole exprerience was delightful.  I have many things to share with you over the next few days.  I will also be busy answering all of your comments and emails.  I got home rather exhausted…for some reason I have trouble with altitude in my old age.  I never did when I was younger.  Therefore, I have to ‘recover’ a bit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Linda

  1. Sounds like you had some fun….I could live without the snow shot….we have some up in the mountains and it is making it’s way down.

  2. Can’t wait to hear about your stay in the hills. I grew up there (Rapid City and Hot Springs) and haven’t been back in at least 5 years (since my Mom moved to Phoenix). I see you guys finally had a hard freeze? Although we have snow in the mountains I’ve yet to get the hard freeze and my allergies are not so patiently waiting for that to happen! Hope Terry’s Mom’s wrist heals well and looks like all enjoyed the time!

  3. Quite an adventure. I’m glad the farming chores have slowed down so you can get away for such a trip. So close you were to us! Looks like you got a taste of the snow that dusted our country.
