When out checking the corn …it’s still too wet, running around 22 and it needs to get to 14

We found the coyote den, well actually the grandkids found it first, but Terry and I had to go check it out

They’ve left the area, but we are sure they will return.  Of course having them so close to the equipment is not good….

We saw a lone little butterfly fueling up for it’s flight going south

Back in the yard a very busy bumble bee was working over the last of the flowers. (I so enjoy bumble bees!)

The chickens were busy eating all the nasty grasshoppers, which tickled me.

The weather has cooled some here, but I’m still determined to enjoy every last ray of autumn light that I can.  November 6th the time changes, which I dread!

  1. I despise Daylight Savings Time; but fall is easier than spring. You get to sleep in!
    Sort of.
The animals don’t pay attention to the clock.
I couldn’t figure out when the change was, so thanks for that.
Thanks for all the pictures, too, Linda. 🙂

  2. Too bad we can’t teach those coyotes to only thin out the varmints and leave the farm critters alone. I like your organic bug killers. They get the hoppers and usually can’t get the butterflies. I really like little red hens. Good wishes going out to get that corn dry before it gets too late and too cold!

  3. It looks like such a beautiful day! Love your photos.
Oh… I am dreading the time change as well. Each morning and evening I think of what time it will be in a week when it gets light and when it gets dark. Bleechh! I hate darkness arriving around 5… or earlier!

  4. The floweres look beautiful, I think all of ours are finally done, see some but not a whole lot. That is the one thing I miss in the winter. I do have lots of plants in the house so, I do get to see greenery all year. I like bubble bees too as long as they stay in their space and not mine 😉

  5. Great flower photos..I miss flowers already! Are you going to get a donkey..to keep the coyotes at bay..coyotes are awfully scary…especially if they are coming closer to the farm.
The corn is in up here..but we have been really dry too. Your chicken are good bug eaters:)
